Tokuyama Vietnam Launches World's Purest Polysilicon Production Project

On August 13, 2026, Tokuyama Vietnam officially inaugurated its polysilicon production project in the Phu My 3 Industrial Park, Ho Chi Minh City. This facility is notable for its goal of producing polysilicon with the highest purity in the world, which is essential for the semiconductor industry.

The project spans an area of 50,000 square meters and has a total investment of over 60 million USD. It is expected to produce nearly 5,000 tons of polysilicon annually. This initiative is the first of its kind established by Tokuyama Group in Vietnam and is poised to enhance the supply of high-quality materials for the semiconductor value chain.

Nguyen Thi Thao Nhi, Chairwoman and General Director of Thanh Binh Phu My Joint Stock Company, emphasized the importance of this high-tech project for the development of the semiconductor material industry in Vietnam. She noted that the establishment of Tokuyama's facility will not only contribute to the local economy but also stimulate the growth of the high-tech industrial ecosystem in the region.

During the inauguration ceremony, Nguyen Manh Cuong, Deputy Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, urged investors to maintain and accelerate the project's implementation, ensuring that it adheres to advanced technological commitments. He affirmed the city's continued support in facilitating investment and addressing any challenges faced by the company.

With over 100 years of history, Tokuyama Group is recognized as one of the world's leading manufacturers of high-purity polysilicon, which is critical for electronic devices and thermal management materials used in semiconductor production. The launch of this facility is a significant step towards strengthening Vietnam's position in the global semiconductor supply chain.
