The Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) has announced that its total electricity production and imports for the first seven months of 2023 have reached an impressive 203.57 billion kWh. This figure highlights the company's commitment to meeting the growing energy demands of the country.

In July, the production alone was recorded at 32.03 billion kWh. The energy mix during this period included 47.37 billion kWh from hydroelectric sources (23.3%), 106.52 billion kWh from coal-fired thermal power (52.3%), 16.21 billion kWh from gas turbines (8%), and 25.96 billion kWh from renewable energy sources (12.8%). Additionally, 7.21 billion kWh was imported, accounting for 3.5% of the total.

EVN has made significant strides in enhancing its customer service, providing 100% of its services online and synchronizing with national databases. The company launched a new customer service application on June 15 to improve customer experience and engagement.

In July, EVN also urged its units to invest in power generation and grid projects in line with its 2026 plan. Major projects, such as Quang Trach I Thermal Power Plant, are progressing, with equipment adjustments underway for testing. The Quang Trach II LNG project has completed its surveys and is expected to finalize technical documents by the fourth quarter.

Beyond production and investment, EVN and its affiliates have contributed over 22.9 billion VND to support war veterans and participate in activities commemorating the 80th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2027).

Looking ahead to August, EVN anticipates that power demand will peak, particularly in the northern region, which is entering its flood season. To ensure a stable supply, EVN has instructed hydroelectric units to monitor weather conditions closely and manage water resources effectively. Thermal power units are also required to secure essential fuel supplies to maintain safe and continuous operations during adverse weather conditions.

EVN is prioritizing several key projects, including Quang Trach I Thermal Power Plant, Quang Trach III LNG, and the expansion of Tri An Hydropower. The company plans to complete three 220-110kV projects to ensure reliable power supply and meet the demands for the upcoming APEC 2027 conference.
