Tragic Incident: Student Dies After Securing Admission to Hanoi University of Science and Technology

A 19-year-old student from Ha Tinh, who had just received news of his admission to Hanoi University of Science and Technology, tragically suffered a stroke and passed away while working a side job. The student, a former pupil of Nguyen Trung Thien High School in Thach Khe, Ha Tinh province, had achieved an impressive score of 26.92 in the recent high school graduation exam, securing a place in the Thermal Engineering program at the university.

According to Truong Quoc Hai, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Thach Khe, the student's family faced financial difficulties as they were engaged in farming. The young man was known in his community as a diligent and conscientious student, always striving for self-improvement. After learning about his acceptance, he took a job as a construction worker to earn money for a laptop, which he needed for his upcoming university studies.

On the afternoon of August 9, before heading to work, he told his family, "I will finish today’s work and come back home." Unfortunately, while working, he suddenly suffered a stroke and passed away. Despite his family's hardships, he consistently worked hard in his studies and showed a strong sense of independence. During a previous instance of receiving support, he had even requested that aid be prioritized for students in more difficult situations.

Local authorities and community representatives have visited to pay their respects and offer condolences to the family. They are also planning to provide support to the family in the coming days. This tragic event highlights the challenges faced by students from less privileged backgrounds as they strive for education and a better future.
