Public Investment Fund Disbursement Progress Monitored

The State Treasury of Vietnam is actively monitoring the disbursement of public investment funds, with significant progress reported. As of August 5, the state budget revenue has reached nearly 1.9 trillion VND, which is about 75% of the annual estimate. This indicates a strong performance in revenue collection, which is crucial for funding various public projects.

According to the latest data, by July 31, the disbursement of public investment through the State Treasury had exceeded 350 trillion VND, accounting for 38.1% of the plan set by the National Assembly and the Prime Minister. However, there are still 24 ministries and central agencies, along with 11 localities, that have disbursed below the national average.

In terms of budget revenue, the State Treasury continues to collaborate with local tax authorities to expedite the collection process, ensuring that all revenues are accounted for in a timely manner. This cooperation is essential for effective budget management and financial governance at all levels.

Economic experts have suggested that for key projects, local authorities, including provincial and municipal governments, should establish inter-agency task forces. These task forces would have the authority to directly address issues related to land origin, compensation rates, resettlement, material sources, and waste disposal sites. They should also ensure the timely handover of land for continuous construction, rather than fragmented transfers.

Contractors are advised to regularly update their actual capabilities and the volume of work being undertaken in other projects, as well as their capacity to mobilize equipment and workforce. Additionally, it is crucial to decisively transfer workloads, supplement subcontractors, or terminate contracts in accordance with regulations for contractors who violate prolonged deadlines.
