71-Year-Old Builds 108-Story Tower in Hanoi, Surpassing Landmark 81

In a remarkable feat of ambition and vision, 71-year-old Nguyen Thi Nga is spearheading the construction of a 108-story tower in Hanoi, which is set to surpass the height of Vietnam's current tallest building, Landmark 81, by nearly 200 meters. The proposed tower, named the Financial Tower, will reach approximately 639 meters and is a centerpiece of the larger Smart City project in North Hanoi, located in the Vinh Ngoc area near the Nhat Tan Bridge.

Nguyen Thi Nga, who graduated from the National Economics University, is the chairwoman of BRG Group, a prominent private conglomerate involved in various sectors including finance, real estate, hotels, golf courses, and retail. Despite her age, she remains active in major economic forums, engaging with international partners and overseeing significant projects. The Smart City initiative, which has an investment of over $4.2 billion, is a joint venture between BRG Group and Japan's Sumitomo Corporation.

The Financial Tower is designed by the renowned architectural firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), known for iconic buildings like the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. The tower will feature a unique Lunarium space at its peak, designed to simulate the moon's phases with a luminous sphere that changes throughout the day, offering panoramic views of the city from nearly 640 meters high.

This ambitious project aims to integrate modern architecture with natural elements and advanced technology, establishing a distinctive landmark in the urban landscape. The Smart City will utilize the CityOS platform, which incorporates solutions for energy management, transportation, healthcare, education, urban governance, and lifestyle services, with the goal of achieving carbon neutrality and becoming a new technology and financial hub in northern Hanoi.

Nguyen Thi Nga's leadership and innovative vision have positioned BRG Group as a pioneer in developing large-scale urban projects, collaborating with international firms to enhance infrastructure and living standards. Her success story is not just about business; it reflects a modern woman’s spirit of entrepreneurship, resilience, and commitment to creating sustainable value for society and the nation.
