Green SM, the electric taxi service founded by Vietnamese billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong, has made its debut in Europe with the launch of operations in Copenhagen, Denmark. This marks a significant milestone in the company's international expansion strategy, following its success in Vietnam and other Asian countries.
The launch event was attended by notable figures, including Do Quang Thai, the First Secretary of the Vietnamese Embassy in Denmark, along with representatives from various reputable Danish organizations such as 3F, Dansk Erhverv, DPT, and Carnegie Investment Bank. Green SM chose Copenhagen for its commitment to sustainable urban transport, making it the first European city to host its services.
Green SM aims to provide a reliable electric transportation option that enhances the existing urban transport ecosystem, catering to both locals and tourists. The fleet in Denmark will consist of fully electric VinFast VF 6 and VF 8 vehicles, designed to meet diverse daily transportation needs.
Unlike many ride-hailing platforms that connect passengers with self-owned or managed drivers, Green SM directly owns and operates its fleet, ensuring consistent service quality and customer experience. In the initial phase, the company will focus on establishing a stable operational platform while fully complying with Danish regulations and continuously improving services based on feedback from customers and drivers.
To ensure a safe and professional experience for all customers, Green SM places a strong emphasis on the recruitment and training of its drivers. Before they begin serving customers, all drivers complete comprehensive training programs on traffic safety, customer service, operational procedures, and electric vehicle usage. Alongside regular training and local operational guidelines, Green SM aims to ensure that every ride meets the quality standards the brand promises.
Customers can book rides through the Green SM app available on both the App Store and Google Play. Fare estimates are provided before trip confirmation, and electronic invoices are automatically sent after each journey. To celebrate the launch in Copenhagen, Green SM is offering new customers five discount codes from July 30, 2026, to September 30, 2026, each providing a 25% discount on rides, with a maximum reduction of 100 DKK per trip.
Richard Nabil Chahine, CEO of Green SM Europe, stated, "For Green SM, Copenhagen is not just a new market but an opportunity to affirm service quality in one of the highest-demand urban transport environments. We respect the standards established by the city while bringing experiences garnered from millions of rides in Asia. Our goal is to provide safe, professional, and convenient electric transport options daily, becoming part of the city's green transport ecosystem."
The presence of Green SM in Europe reflects its long-term international development strategy. Rather than prioritizing rapid expansion, the company focuses on building a solid operational foundation in each market, adapting to local needs while gradually establishing trust through stable and reliable service quality. With its fully electric fleet and low-emission operational model, Green SM hopes to contribute to Denmark's sustainable transport goals while providing a convenient travel option for residents and visitors alike.
Founded in Vietnam in 2023, Green SM currently operates in Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia, the Philippines, India, and Kazakhstan. With its electric fleet, technological platform, and unified operational standards, Green SM is progressively expanding its international presence while flexibly adjusting services to suit the characteristics of each market.
