Cabo Verde Coach Gifts Jersey to António José Seguro

During a recent state visit to Cabo Verde, António José Seguro, the President of Portugal, received a special gift from the national football team's coach. The coach presented him with a jersey from the goalkeeper Josimar Dias, popularly known as Vozinha. This moment occurred at a book fair supported by Camões – Portuguese Cooperation in Cidade Velha, where Seguro met with the coach and the president of the Cabo Verdean Football Federation, Mário Semedo.

Upon receiving the jersey, Seguro expressed his surprise and delight, stating, "I was not expecting this. Extraordinary, this is what true 'morabeza' is." The Portuguese President took the opportunity to praise the Cabo Verdean national team's performance in the 2026 World Cup, commending their ability to combine talent, teamwork, and determination. He remarked, "It is a capacity to bring together talents, play as a team, and believe in that. It is fabulous," while reminiscing about the Blue Sharks' matches in the tournament.

During his conversation with the coach, known as Bubista, Seguro inquired about the secret behind the team's impressive performance, which included a draw against the world champions Spain and a valiant effort against Argentina in the round of 16. Bubista attributed the team's success to their strong identity and unity, stating, "We clearly showed what our people are about, trying to do everything with great unity." He further emphasized that the hard work and resilience of the Cabo Verdean people were crucial to the national team's historic campaign.

The Blue Sharks' performance in the 2026 World Cup has been a prominent topic during António José Seguro's visit to Cabo Verde, where he continues to focus on enhancing cooperation between the two nations.
