During a recent state visit to Cabo Verde, António José Seguro, the President of Portugal, received a special gift from the national football team's coach. The coach presented him with a jersey from the goalkeeper Josimar Dias, popularly known as Vozinha. This moment occurred at a book fair supported by Camões – Portuguese Cooperation in Cidade Velha, where Seguro met with the coach and the president of the Cabo Verdean Football Federation, Mário Semedo.

During his conversation with the coach, known as Bubista, Seguro inquired about the secret behind the team's impressive performance, which included a draw against the world champions Spain and a valiant effort against Argentina in the round of 16. Bubista attributed the team's success to their strong identity and unity, stating, "We clearly showed what our people are about, trying to do everything with great unity."
