Gold Prices Drop by One Million Dong

On July 24, gold prices saw a notable decline, with gold bars priced at 139 million dong, down by one million dong from the previous day. The Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) listed gold bar prices at 134 - 139 million dong, maintaining a one million dong difference between buying and selling prices. SJC has no restrictions on the amount of gold bars and plain rings sold today, ensuring that customers selling gold can receive their payments on the same day.

At the same time, the DOJI Gold and Gemstone Group and Bảo Tín Minh Châu matched SJC's gold bar prices. Mi Hồng reported a decrease in gold bars to 135 - 137.5 million dong. The price of plain rings varies significantly among brands, with SJC reducing the price of these rings to 133 - 138 million dong. Mi Hồng's plain rings are priced similarly to gold bars at 135 - 137.5 million dong, while DOJI lists plain rings at 139 - 143.5 million dong, which is 4-5 million dong higher than gold bars. Bảo Tín Minh Châu's plain rings are priced at 138.7 - 142.5 million dong.

On the international market, spot gold traded around 4,045 USD per ounce, a decrease of 100 USD compared to the previous session. When converted at the Vietcombank selling rate, the difference between domestic and global gold prices is now nearly 10 million dong per bar. Additionally, silver prices in the domestic market fell slightly by 1.5%, with Phú Quý, DOJI, and Sacombank - SBJ listing silver prices around 2.15 - 2.2 million dong per bar, equivalent to 57.3 - 59 million dong per kilogram.

In the foreign exchange market, the USD price remained stable. Vietcombank listed the USD at 26,100 - 26,510 dong, a slight increase of 10 dong compared to yesterday and up by over 0.15% since the beginning of the month. Meanwhile, the dollar in the unofficial market continues to trend down slightly, with selling prices higher than those in banks. This morning, some currency exchange points were trading around 26,330 - 26,360 dong per USD.
