Former Techcombank CEO Nguyễn Lê Quốc Anh Nominated for Eximbank Board

Nguyễn Lê Quốc Anh, who served as the CEO of Techcombank from 2016 to 2020, has officially submitted his candidacy for a position on the Board of Directors at Eximbank (EIB). This announcement comes as Eximbank prepares for an extraordinary shareholders' meeting set for July 24, 2026, at the JW Marriott Hotel in Hanoi.

The meeting will address personnel matters and other issues within the authority of the shareholders, including the dismissal of several board members and the election of new members to both the Board of Directors and the Supervisory Board for the 2025-2030 term. The board is expected to consist of seven members, with six being independent.

In addition to Nguyễn Lê Quốc Anh, the list of candidates for independent board member positions includes Richa Goswami, Ooi Huye Tyn, Michael Richard Harte, and Chua Teck Huat Bill. The only candidate for the Supervisory Board position is Nguyễn Quốc Hùng.

Nguyễn Lê Quốc Anh holds a bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering from Purdue University, two master's degrees from California State University and Purdue University, and a Ph.D. from Purdue University. He brings over 30 years of experience in the banking and finance sector, having held senior management roles at T-Mobile US, Wells Fargo Bank, Nissan USA, Fortress Investment/Transmarket Group, and McKinsey & Company.

His candidacy is notable as he aims to leverage his extensive experience in banking and finance to contribute to Eximbank's strategic direction. The upcoming shareholders' meeting will be crucial in determining the future leadership of Eximbank as it seeks to enhance its governance and operational efficiency.
