The Ministry of Science and ICT’s Postal Service has announced the upcoming 2026 Korea Stamp Exhibition, scheduled to take place from July 29 to August 2 at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza. This year's exhibition is themed "Stamps, diving into the times," and aims to engage the public with various interactive programs.
Among the highlights of the exhibition will be a dedicated area celebrating the 50th anniversary of Robot Taekwon V, which will feature a 3-meter tall figure of the iconic robot, along with vintage comic books and telephone directories. In addition, Korea Post plans to issue 700,000 commemorative stamps during this period to honor Robot Taekwon V's legacy.
Another exciting aspect of the exhibition is the preview of commemorative stamps for Faker, the renowned esports player, which are set to be released in October. This preview will be part of a special theme hall that showcases stamps related to current trends and popular culture.
The exhibition will also include an AI convergence content theme hall, where visitors can experience attractions that blend postal culture with cutting-edge technology. Highlights will include a humanoid robot dressed as a postman demonstrating Taekwon V moves and K-pop dance routines, providing a unique twist to the traditional stamp exhibition.
Park In-hwan, head of Korea Post, expressed his hopes that visitors will appreciate the diverse cultural elements represented in stamps and enjoy the exhibition, especially during the hot summer months. The event promises to be a delightful experience for both stamp enthusiasts and the general public alike.
