According to the Southern Regional Meteorological Center, the weather will feature intermittent sunshine during the day, with rain becoming more frequent as the southwest monsoon strengthens.
On July 18, the forecast indicates that temperatures will range from 24 to 27 degrees Celsius at night, while daytime highs will reach between 32 and 35 degrees Celsius. Winds from the southwest are expected to increase slightly to levels 5, with gusts up to levels 6, and occasionally reaching levels 7-8. The coastal areas of Ho Chi Minh City will also experience scattered rain and thunderstorms.
Residents are advised to be cautious of potential tornadoes, strong gusts, and high waves during thunderstorms. The meteorological agency warns that as the southwest monsoon becomes more active, there will be an increase in rainfall, with some areas experiencing moderate to heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds.
Looking ahead, between July 23 and 24, a widespread rainfall event is likely as a low-pressure trough forms and moves through the area. The meteorological agency recommends that residents closely monitor weather forecasts to plan their travel accordingly. During thunderstorms, it is advised to avoid traveling through flooded areas and to seek shelter away from large trees, advertising billboards, or unstable structures.
