Xbox Exclusive Shooter Warhammer 40,000 Coming to PS5 and Switch 2

PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 gamers are set to enjoy the remastered version of one of the Xbox 360 era’s most exciting shooters, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition. Originally released on Xbox and PC, the game is now expected to reach a broader audience with its upcoming ports to these popular consoles.

Last summer, the remaster was met with mixed reviews, particularly regarding its visuals, which many players felt did not meet modern expectations. Despite its $40 price point, the game faced backlash for not delivering the visual enhancements that fans anticipated. However, it captured the essence of the gory, action-packed shooters from the Xbox 360 era.

Recent leaks from the official ESRB website indicated that the PS5 and Switch 2 versions of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition are imminent. Although these listings were later removed, the presence of these platforms suggests that an official announcement from Sega may be forthcoming. As of now, there is no confirmed release date for the ports.

Considering the crowded gaming schedule from late August to mid-October, it is likely that these ports will launch either by the end of July or in early August, before major titles such as Star Wars: Zero Company and Grand Theft Auto 6 are released. If Sega adheres to this timeline, fans can expect to see the game on their consoles soon.

While the original remaster was criticized for its graphics, players on PS5 and Switch 2 are hoping for improvements. If developer SneakyBox decides to enhance the visuals for the new ports, it could also benefit Xbox and PC players, who would receive the updates as well.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition is currently available on Xbox and PC, and its expansion to PlayStation and Switch platforms marks an exciting development for fans of the franchise.
