A recent incident at a seafood restaurant in Phu Tho province has drawn significant attention online after a young man was left behind with a bill of 16 million VND (around $680) following a lavish meal with five women and children. The group ordered expensive dishes, including King Crab, Alaskan Lobster, and various seafood delicacies. As the meal concluded, the other diners gradually left, leaving the young man behind with the unpaid bill.

Witnesses reported that the young man exhibited unusual behavior, flailing his arms and refusing to pay the bill. The restaurant owner, Dang Hau, later discovered that this was not the first time the young man had dined at other establishments without settling his bills. After the incident was reported, the restaurant owner contacted authorities for assistance.

In a surprising turn of events, two days after the incident, one of the women from the group transferred 8 million VND to help cover part of the bill. She explained that she was a student and the others were unable to contribute more due to financial constraints, as they were caring for young children. The restaurant owner expressed relief at receiving half of the bill, stating that he wanted to resolve the situation and focus on his business.

Following the incident, the restaurant faced scrutiny on social media, with many questioning whether they had orchestrated the situation for publicity. The owner admitted to feeling stressed by the mixed reactions but emphasized that they had surveillance footage to support their account of the events. The restaurant, which has been operating for six years, typically enjoys a steady flow of customers without needing to advertise.

On the night of June 24, around 8:40 PM, the group arrived at the restaurant and began their meal. Approximately 30 minutes later, the young man complained of stomach pain, prompting the others to leave one by one. The final bill detailed the extravagant meal, with over 5.6 million VND for King Crab and more than 5.1 million VND for Alaskan Lobster, among other items.
