Thái Nguyên Sees Surge in Tourism and Cultural Activities

Thái Nguyên province has reported a remarkable increase in tourism, with over 5.25 million visitors in the first half of 2026. This figure includes more than 178,000 international tourists, contributing to a total tourism revenue of 7.352 trillion VND. Compared to the same period last year, the number of visitors has risen by 16.3%, international arrivals have increased by nearly 36%, and tourism revenue has surged by 60%. This growth is largely due to the province's enhanced promotional activities and large-scale tourism initiatives.

One of the standout events was the opening ceremony of the 2026 Thái Nguyên Tourism Season, themed "Symphony of Lakes on the Mountain - Tea in the Clouds." This event featured a variety of cultural, sports, and artistic activities that attracted many visitors.

In addition to tourism, local authorities are also focusing on community safety and awareness. The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, in collaboration with the Women's Union of Cao Bằng Province, organized a fire safety and rescue training session for 80 staff members and children at the provincial social protection center. This initiative is part of the "Useful Summer Days for Children" program, which aims to educate participants on drowning prevention, fire safety, and emergency response skills.

Moreover, the Electricity Company of Điện Biên Phủ has teamed up with local authorities to launch a campaign for the beautification of telecommunications infrastructure. This initiative will involve two phases: the first phase focuses on the reorganization and retrieval of cables along key streets, while the second phase will see the underground installation of cables in areas equipped with technical trenches and underground piping systems.

Lastly, in Lai Châu Province, efforts are underway to identify the remains of fallen soldiers. The provincial authorities have initiated a process to collect samples and digitize information regarding the graves of 609 soldiers, with a focus on 34 graves that require identification through DNA testing. This project is crucial as Lai Châu has 1,343 soldier graves, with 205 remains still needing DNA samples for identification.
