Investigation Continues After Suspect's Death in Bắc Ninh Tragedy

A tragic event unfolded in Bắc Ninh, Vietnam, on June 20, when Nguyễn Văn Tuyên, a 36-year-old man, attacked four people with a knife, resulting in four fatalities, including himself. The victims included a 15-year-old girl, a 31-year-old woman, and two young children aged 10 and 6. The incident occurred in the home of a 61-year-old man, where Tuyên reportedly had a personal conflict with the 31-year-old woman, identified as his girlfriend.

According to legal experts, Tuyên's suicide will lead to the suspension of the investigation regarding his responsibility in the crime. However, if evidence surfaces indicating the involvement of other individuals, the investigation may proceed. The police have preliminarily identified the motive for the attack as a romantic dispute between Tuyên and the woman.

Lawyer Dương Đức Thắng from Đức Trí Tín Law Firm noted that the case shows signs of murder and illegal use of military weapons, which could prompt authorities to initiate a criminal case under the 2015 Penal Code. The investigation will involve collecting evidence and documentation to ascertain Tuyên's culpability. If it is determined that Tuyên was the sole perpetrator but has since died, the investigation may be halted regarding his actions.

Nevertheless, the death of the primary suspect does not signify the end of the case. Authorities will continue to gather information and interview those connected to the incident to explore the possibility of accomplices involved in crimes such as murder or illegal weapon use. If any additional individuals are found to have participated in the crime, legal proceedings will continue in accordance with the law.

In summary, while the investigation into Nguyễn Văn Tuyên's actions may be suspended due to his death, the case remains open as authorities seek to determine if others played a role in this tragic event.
