List of Vehicle Owners Caught Running Red Lights in June

In a recent announcement, traffic police from various provinces in Vietnam have published a list of vehicle owners who were penalized for running red lights between June 1 and June 15. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to improve road safety and enforce traffic regulations more effectively.

The traffic police in An Giang province reported that they utilized surveillance camera systems to identify offenders during this period. The list includes various types of vehicles, from motorcycles to cars and trucks, with specific license plates noted for each violation.

  • Motorcycles under 50cc: 68AA-027.30, 68NA-126.25, and others.
  • Motorcycles between 50cc and 175cc: 68P1-232.65, 68N1-313.41, and several more.
  • Cars: 68A-152.15, 68A-079.91, and numerous others.
  • Ambulances and other specialized vehicles were also included in the list.

This enforcement effort is backed by the newly implemented Decree 168/2024/NĐ-CP, which significantly increases fines for traffic violations. For instance, drivers caught running red lights can face fines ranging from 18 to 20 million VND, while motorcycle riders may incur fines between 4 and 6 million VND.

The goal of these heightened penalties is to raise awareness about traffic laws and reduce accidents and congestion on the roads. Authorities are urging violators to report to the police station where the violation was recorded or to their local police to address the penalties accordingly.

As the implementation of these regulations continues, the traffic police are committed to a dual approach of public education and strict enforcement to foster a safer driving environment for all.
