Defense Ministry’s help sought to deal with vehicle inspection overloads
HCMC – The Ministry of Transport has asked the Ministry of National Defense for help to cope with excessive
Deputy PM Tran Hong Ha yesterday, March 8, worked with the relevant ministries in Hanoi to address huge crowds of autos at auto inspection centers, according to the Vietnam News Agency.
According to the Ministry of Transport, currently, the inspection centers in the two big cities of Hanoi and HCMC only meet 40% and 50%, respectively of the residents’ inspection demands. This percentage even dropped to 30% in some months.
At the meeting, many officials proposed focusing on measures to resume inspection centers in Hanoi and HCMC cities as soon as possible.
The deputy prime minister underlined the necessity to resolve the existing shortcomings, however this should not impact inspection services.
The Ministry of Transport was asked to guide eligible maintenance service centers of automakers to participate in providing inspection services. Also, exemption of inspection would be applied for brand-new vehicles, said the deputy prime minister.
Meanwhile, Deputy PM Ha urged the Ministry of Transport to mobilize human resources being the inspectors of other localities to work for inspection centers in Hanoi and HCMC and ask inspectors to work overtime to meet the auto inspection demand.
