HCMC – The Ministry of Health has reported 60 new Covid-19 cases, including one imported Covid-19 case in Khanh Hoa Province and 59 locally-infected ones, taking the country’s tally to 3,816 as of this evening, May 14.
Among the community-transmitted cases, Bac Ninh Province had the most number of Covid-19 infections at 33, followed by Hanoi City at 12. Meanwhile, six cases were confirmed in Bac Giang Province, three in Danang City, and one each in Thai Binh and Dien Bien provinces.
K Hospital’s Tan Trieu Campus reported two community-transmitted cases and the national hospital for tropical diseases confirmed one.
The Ministry of Health on the same day issued a warning of Covid-19 vaccine-related scams, saying that there have yet to be services for Covid-19 vaccination.
The warning was given after an announcement released by TTC JSC saying that on May 12, the firm would start the vaccination of Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine, with each person needing two doses at the price of VND1.5 million, went viral on social media, according to the ministry.
According to the announcement, the vaccination would take place at the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology, the local media reported.
A representative of the ministry said that after contacting the national institute for verification, the ministry affirmed it was a scam. Besides, the country is deploying the Covid-19 vaccination program for only medical workers and prioritized groups in line with the Government’s Resolution 21, while having yet to import the Russian vaccine.
Residents should stay alert against Covid-19 vaccine scams, the ministry said, adding that it was trying to have a sufficient supply of vaccines for residents.
