On Friday's afternoon, January 22, Vietnamese Ambassador, President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) Nguyen Phuong Nga met Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Philippines to Vietnam Meynardo Los Banos Montealegre at the VUFO's headquarters in Hanoi in his courtesy visit on the occasion of implementing his newly appointed assignment in Vietnam.
On Friday's afternoon, January 22, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Philippines Meynardo Los Banos Montealegre paid a courtesy visit to VUFO President Nguyen Phuong Nga at the VUFO headquarters at 105A Quan Thanh, Hanoi on the occasion of the Ambassadors doing his newly appointed mission in Vietnam.
Accompanying the Ambassador this time in the delegation also the Consul General Paul Vincent Uy and the 3rd Secretary Jose Santiago Olaguera of the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in Vietnam.
On the side of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, in addition to the head of the VUFO, President Nguyen Phuong Nga, also presenting Mr. Nguyen Thac Dinh, former Ambassador of Vietnam to the Republic of the Philippines, General Secretary of the Vietnam - Philiipines Friendship Association, Lecturer at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam and other relevant officers.
On behalf of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and all staff members of the VUFO, President Nguyen Phuong Nga warmly welcomed the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Repuclic of the Philippines to implement his duties in Vietnam. At the same time, the President also expressed her honor that the Ambassador himself, with the Consulate General and the 3rd Secretary of the Philippine Embassy paying the visit to the VUFO for greeting and having a talk with her.
On this occasion, President Nguyen Phuong Nga expressed her thanks to the Ambassador and the guests for their high appreciation to the people-to-people relations, the important work undertaken by VUFO currently.
Ambassador Meynardo Los Banos Montealegre also said that he always highly appreciated the achievements as well as the friendly relationships have been built up by the people-to-people diplomacy in recent years.
President Nguyen Phuong Nga emphasized that for the success of the relationship between Vietnam and the Republic of the Philippines, the key role of diplomats assigned to work as ambassadors is indispensable, as former Ambassador Nguyen Thac Dinh.
In a friendly atmosphere, the Ambassadors shared and reviewed the unforgettable memories of their mission in different countries and at the United Nations as well as their duties and obligations performed with messengers to bring friendship, friendliness and cooperation with friend country.
On this occasion, President Phuong Nga also introduced and shared the duties and responsibilities of the VUFO and the Friendship Associations directly under VUFO, working with the main job of coordinates and as a bridge to connect foreign organizations and people, performing the people-to-people relations' tasks entrusted by the Party, the State and the Central Committee of External Relations of Vietnam to promote and realize friendship and cooperative relations with international organizations, agencies and people, NGOs of the countries to go into praticality and depth.
Ambassador Meynardo Los Banos Montealegre shares that with his mission of promoting the friendship and relationship between the Philippines and Vietnam, he is interested in working with VUFO and its friendship associations, in particular with the Vietnam - Philippines Friendship Association for deepening the cooperation relationship of the two countries' people.
He also emphasizes that the Philippines and Vietnam are now strategic partnership, so the Philippines always attaches so much importance to the relationship with Vietnam, in which the VUFO playing the important role of organizing and guiding activities to promote cooperation of people, NGOs, agencies and businesses of the two countries into practice and depth, and they are seeking VUFO's support and understanding in their programs to complete their friendship and coorperation.
At the end of the courtesy visit, the two sides' leaders presented meaningful souvenirs and took memorial photos together.
