'Little Stork' Xuân Mai Makes Musical Comeback After 20 Years

'Little Stork' Xuân Mai Makes Musical Comeback After 20 Years

Xuân Mai, now 31 years old, is making a much-anticipated return to the music scene after more than two decades away. Known for her childhood hit 'Little Stork,' Xuân Mai will join forces with fellow artist Xuân Nghi for a new song titled 'Who Cares About Us?' which is scheduled to be released on July 17.

Reflecting on her long absence from the stage, Xuân Mai expressed a deep longing for her audience and the thrill of performing. Although she has always harbored the desire to return, there were moments of uncertainty about how and when to make her comeback. Fortunately, a reconnection with a mutual friend led to her collaboration with Xuân Nghi, which she feels is perfectly timed.

Currently residing in Ohio, USA, with her husband and children, Xuân Mai admitted to feeling nervous yet excited as she stepped into the recording studio. She described the experience as surreal, akin to 'walking on clouds,' and is eager to engage with her fans again on stage. 'I am happy to be doing what I love; all the familiar emotions came flooding back, and I realized how much I missed the microphone,' she shared.

One of the biggest pressures she faces is the public's perception of her as 'little Xuân Mai' from her childhood. She cherishes the love and memories that fans have for her but hopes they will embrace the mature and more composed version of herself today.

Xuân Mai views her collaboration with Xuân Nghi as a significant starting point for her future endeavors in music. As a mother of three, she feels she has grown in both her outlook on life and her appreciation for music. She credits her family, especially her husband and mother, for their unwavering support, which has been crucial in helping her regain her confidence. 'The unconditional love from my family gives me the courage to pursue my passion in peace and gratitude,' she stated.

Regarding the new song, Xuân Mai resonates with Xuân Nghi's lyrical vision, emphasizing the message of living fully and not worrying too much about others' opinions. Through this musical piece, she hopes listeners will embrace positive energy, be confident in themselves, and smile at life.

Xuân Mai, whose real name is Trương Hoàng Xuân Mai, was born in 1995 into a family with a rich artistic background; her father is singer Tuấn Cảnh, and her mother is guitarist Thu Thu. She was dubbed a 'singing prodigy' in Vietnam's music scene, performing on stage at just two years old and releasing several successful CDs. To date, she has more than 30 albums to her name. Her most famous album remains 'Little Stork.' At the age of five, she held a live concert attended by thousands. After moving to the U.S. with her mother following her parents' divorce, Xuân Mai occasionally returns to Vietnam for performances and music videos. She married at 20 and has three children, with her latest born in 2018.
