Techcombank Plans 50% Dividend Distribution and Capital Increase
Techcombank has announced plans to distribute a 50% dividend to shareholders and increase its charter

Techcombank, officially known as Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank, has announced a plan to distribute a 50% dividend to its shareholders. This decision was made by the bank's Board of Directors and involves the issuance of more than 3.5 billion shares, which will raise the bank's charter capital to over 106 trillion VND.
Currently, Techcombank's charter capital stands at 70.862 trillion VND, represented by 7 billion outstanding shares, with no preferred or treasury shares. Under the dividend distribution plan, shareholders holding 100 shares as of the record date will receive an additional 50 new shares. The funds for this distribution will come from the retained earnings based on the audited financial report for 2025.
In addition to the dividend distribution, Techcombank plans to issue nearly 30 million shares under its Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) for 2026, with a nominal price of 10,000 VND per share, totaling nearly 300 billion VND. Of these, 6.5 million shares will be allocated to foreign employees, while 23.4 million shares will be for Vietnamese employees. All shares issued under this program will be subject to a one-year transfer restriction following the issuance.
The ESOP is expected to be implemented after the completion of the dividend share issuance and upon receiving the necessary documentation approval from the State Securities Commission. Once both share issuances are completed, Techcombank's new charter capital is projected to reach 106.593 trillion VND.
Regarding its business performance, Techcombank reported a pre-tax profit of 18.5 trillion VND for the first six months of 2026, marking a 22.5% increase compared to the same period last year. The bank's total operating income also rose by 17.5%, reaching 28.6 trillion VND.
