Techcombank Plans 50% Dividend Distribution and Capital Increase

Vietnam's Techcombank (HOSE: TCB) has revealed its intention to distribute a 50% dividend to shareholders, alongside plans to raise its charter capital to approximately 106.6 trillion VND, positioning it as the largest private bank in the country. This decision comes as part of the bank's strategy to strengthen its financial foundation and reward its investors.

The bank's proposal includes issuing 3,543,120,207 shares as dividends to existing shareholders, funded by undistributed after-tax profits as per the audited financial report for 2025. Additionally, Techcombank plans to issue 29,977,234 shares as part of an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), valued at around 299.77 billion VND, which represents a 0.28% issuance rate. The capital increase is expected to take place in the fourth quarter of 2026, pending regulatory approvals.

Techcombank has also recently been recognized for its significant contributions to the national budget, ranking as the top private bank with a contribution of nearly 11 trillion VND in 2025. This marks the first instance of a private bank contributing over 10 trillion VND to the state budget, highlighting Techcombank's growing influence in the sector.

In the first half of 2026, Techcombank reported a pre-tax profit of 18.5 trillion VND, reflecting a 22.5% increase compared to the previous year. The bank's total operating income reached 28.6 trillion VND, up 17.5% year-on-year, showcasing a robust performance across its business operations.

Furthermore, Techcom Securities, a subsidiary of Techcombank, has been included in the FTSE Global Equity Index Series, which covers over 19,000 securities from various markets worldwide. This inclusion is expected to enhance the bank's visibility among international investors and further solidify its market position.
