Bank Interest Rates on October 9: 12-Month Term Reaches 10%

On October 9, 2026, a survey of over 30 banks in Vietnam revealed that interest rates for savings accounts, particularly for a 12-month term, have reached impressive heights. PVcomBank is currently leading the market with an interest rate of 10% per annum for deposits of 2 trillion VND or more, although this rate is only available for in-branch customers.

Under normal conditions, the interest rate for a 12-month deposit at PVcomBank is set at 5.3% per annum. Following closely is MSB, which offers a rate of 9% per annum for new savings accounts opened or automatically renewed since January 1, 2018, with a minimum balance requirement of 500 billion VND.

Additionally, Cake by VPBank is running a promotional campaign from September 22 to October 31, 2026, providing an extra 2.2% per annum for first-time savers. This offer applies to standard and cumulative deposits made through the CAKE BANK app, with a minimum deposit of 100,000 VND and terms ranging from 6 to 13 months.

For standard rates, Cake by VPBank lists the following: 4.75% per annum for 1-5 month terms, 7.20% for 6-9 months, 7.40% for 10-24 months, and 6.30% for 36 months. With the current promotional rates, savers can achieve a total interest rate of up to 9.6% per annum for terms of 10-13 months.

HDBank also offers competitive rates, with 7.2% per annum for 12-month deposits and 7.6% for 13-month deposits for clients with a minimum deposit of 500 billion VND.

It is important to note that these interest rates are subject to change and should be verified with the respective banks for the most accurate and up-to-date information.
