HCMC – The AMI Renewables Corporation in Quang Binh Province signed a memorandum of understanding with the Lao government yesterday, December 8, to carry out the feasibility study for the Ami Savannakhet wind farm with a capacity of 252MW.

The Vietnamese side will conduct the feasibility study for the project on 2.687 hectares in Sepon District, Savannakhet Province, Laos.

The duration of implementation is 24 months and can be extended.

With a capacity of 252MW, the project aims to produce electricity for domestic consumption and export.

The AMI Renewables Corporation will upgrade the plant’s capacity to 1,215MW in the future. If feasible, the project will be carried out under the build-own-operate format.

On December 7, the Monsoon Wind Power Company Limited signed a deal to implement Southeast Asia’s largest wind power project to export electricity to Vietnam.
