HCMC breaks ground on VND3.4-trillion interchange
HCMC – The VND3.4-trillion An Phu interchange project got off the ground this morning, December 29, to ease
Located along the Hanoi Highway, the underpass is 670 meters long and eight meters wide. It is an important component of the interchange project in front of the new Mien Dong Coach Station.
The underpass will help separate traffic flows and ease traffic congestion at the gateway of HCMC.
Work on the VND75-billion project commenced in March 2020 and was then expected for completion in December 2021. But construction delays pushed back the opening date of the underpass to the end of November this year.
The TCIP will continue to complete other components of the interchange project, including another underpass facilitating traffic from Dong Nai to HCMC, two overpasses, and a pedestrian bridge allowing passengers to walk from an elevated station of the city’s Metro Line No.1 to Mien Dong Bus Station.
The total cost of this interchange project is estimated at VND437 billion.
