Mass wedding of 18 couples in the capital

HANOI – 18 couples were organized by the Hanoi Youth Union to follow a new lifestyle at the flower garden of Ba Kieu temple, Hoan Kiem district, on October 15.

The mass wedding of 18 couples began with an incense offering ceremony in front of the statue of King Ly Thai To, on the morning of October 15.

Since Directive 11 was issued by the Hanoi City Party Committee in January 2013, there have been at least two mass weddings organized by the Youth Union. In 2013, 10 young couples held a wedding ceremony at Thinh Liet Primary School, Hoang Mai District. Four years later, the wedding for 20 young couples following a new lifestyle and the “Golden Wedding” for 20 couples of old men and women living happily for 50 years or more took place at Bach Thao Park, Ba Dinh District.

In 2004, the first mass wedding in Hanoi was held with 30 couples, including a couple over 70 years old.

After the incense offering ceremony, the sponsor will give wedding rings to the couples and take wedding photos around Hoan Kiem Lake. Couples will wear traditional Ao Dai at the wedding ceremony.

Nguyen Duc Tien, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union, Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Union of Hanoi, said that this wedding ceremony is an activity to summarize 10 years of implementing Directive No. Interior.

Tran Ha Ly and Nguyen Quoc Manh in Truc Bach Ward, Ba Dinh District take wedding photos by Hoan Kiem Lake. They fell in love during the days when they were on duty at the Covid-19 epidemic prevention posts. Due to the epidemic, although they registered their marriage more than a year ago, their wedding was only held today.

Sweet moment of the couple. The couples attending the wedding ceremony are mainly union members and youth living in the local Youth Union, agencies and units, many of whom have registered their marriage.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Tan (blue flower shirt) reviews photos taken with her daughter Trinh Thi Thanh Nhan and son-in-law Vu Duc Loc. To celebrate her daughter, Mrs. Tan went from Hai Phong to Hanoi early in the morning. “I said I wanted to join the group wedding and the family immediately agreed,” Ms. Tan said.

Nhan and Loc have been in love since high school. Both registered their marriage in December 2021, right at the time of the Covid-19 epidemic, so they did not hold a wedding ceremony.

On the evening of October 15, the main ceremony began to take place. In the music, the brides beamed from below to the stage, where the grooms were already waiting.

Each couple was introduced in turn. All are not hiding their happiness.

Couples exchange wedding rings. At this event, each couple is sponsored with flowers, wedding rings and plane tickets to go on their honeymoon.

A couple shows off their wedding rings together.

And indispensable sweet kisses.

Over the past 10 years, the capital’s Union and Association have been predestined, organizing thousands of youth weddings according to new lifestyles, including 4 mass weddings that bring a lot of joy and happiness to families.

Couples who have attended the wedding for many years now have a happy families and become active propagandists in the implementation of Directive 11.
