5 localities will welcome international tourists in November

Phu Quoc, Khanh Hoa, Quang Nam, Da Nang, and Quang Ninh have been approved by the Government to welcome international visitors this month.

On the afternoon of November 2, the Government Office announced the opinion of Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh approving the pilot route to welcome international guests, as proposed by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Accordingly, Vietnam will open to the world in three phases. Phase 1 (from November), welcome guests according to package programs, through charter flights and international trade in selected areas and tourist service establishments in Phu Quoc (Kien Giang province). ), Khanh Hoa, Quang Nam, Da Nang, Quang Ninh.

Phase 2 (from January 2022) expands and connects destinations in the 5 localities mentioned above. Visitors can visit these places after the first 7 days of local travel.

Phase 3 is fully open to international visitors. The starting time will be based on the epidemic situation and the results of the two phases above.

According to the draft provisional guidance of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, guests participating in the pilot program are foreigners and Vietnamese residing abroad. The minimum requirement is to have a certificate of a full dose of the Covid-19 vaccine or treatment of the disease; have negative results for nCoV by RT-PCR method 72 hours before departure; have medical or travel insurance including coverage of Covid-19 treatment at least $50,000 and join a package tour. Children under 12 years of age traveling with a parent or guardian do not require a vaccination certificate.

Visitors on entry must measure their temperature, install the IGOVN application built by the Ministry of Public Security and use it during their stay in Vietnam. On the first day of entry, visitors are taken to the accommodation facility and self-tested for nCoV, continuing to participate in the program if the results are negative. If positive, they will be taken to a medical facility and the cost will be covered by insurance or a travel agency.

In the first 7 days, visitors must adhere to the schedule, ensure 5K and recommend self-testing every 2-3 days. During the course of having symptoms of fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, etc., it is necessary to notify medical staff for screening tests. At the end of 7 days, those who continue to stay in Vietnam must self-test for Covid-19, if the results are negative, they will be allowed to go to other localities. Those wishing to visit relatives need to register with the organizer.

The first 5 local People’s Committees to pilot welcome guests must vaccinate the people and workers of the tourism industry and have detailed instructions for welcoming international guests in the locality.
