The Vietnam national football team has recently announced its squad for the upcoming FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026, and the list includes some surprising omissions. Among the six notable absences are key players like Doan Van Hau, Nguyen Filip, and Dang Van Lam, which has raised eyebrows among fans and analysts alike.

Doan Van Hau, born in 1999, has been a crucial part of the team, known for his versatility as both a left center-back and a full-back. His absence is particularly significant as he played a vital role in the squad that clinched the ASEAN Cup title.
