Midfielder Phan Van Duc has officially left Hanoi Police FC to pursue opportunities with another club, even though he was under contract until 2028. According to reports, Hanoi Police FC has consented to a loan deal that allows Van Duc to join a different team temporarily, aiming to secure more regular playing time.

Van Duc, born in 1996, had renewed his contract with Hanoi Police FC in June 2025, extending his stay until June 2028. His move to a new club is seen as a strategic decision to enhance his chances of being on the field more frequently.

He joined Hanoi Police FC at the start of the 2023 season, but an unfortunate ligament injury sidelined him for an extended period. It wasn't until the latter stages of the 2023/24 V.League season that he made his return to competitive football. After recovering, he gradually regained his form and was even called back to the Vietnam national team by coach Kim Sang-sik. However, he ultimately did not secure a spot on the final roster for the 2024 ASEAN Cup.

During the 2024/25 season, Hanoi Police FC bolstered their squad depth to compete across four tournaments, which limited Van Duc's playing opportunities. Despite this, he managed to appear in 20 matches and scored one goal that season. In the following 2025/26 season, he played 25 matches across all competitions, scoring three goals, but often found himself coming off the bench rather than starting.

Throughout his four seasons with Hanoi Police FC, Van Duc contributed to the team winning the V.League title twice, along with one National Cup and one Super Cup. He also played a pivotal role in Vietnam's football history, being part of the squad that finished as runners-up in the 2018 AFC U23 Championship, reached the semifinals of the 2018 ASIAD, won the 2018 AFF Cup, and finished as runners-up in the 2022 AFF Cup.
