Kaina Nunes, a Brazilian forward, has officially signed with Phrae United in Thailand after concluding his time with Bắc Ninh FC in Vietnam. Following the end of the 2025/26 season, Nunes decided to embark on a new chapter in his career, having previously joined Bắc Ninh FC in August 2025 with high expectations.
Standing at 1.96 meters tall, Nunes was anticipated to be a key player for Bắc Ninh FC, contributing significantly to their attacking line under coach Paulo Foiani. His notable height and impressive heading ability were seen as assets that would fit well into the team's playing style.
Before his stint in Vietnam, Nunes had experience playing for various clubs across Europe and Asia, including a notable period with Esteghlal Khuzestan in Iran, where he made his mark in the UEFA Conference League. However, his time at Bắc Ninh did not unfold as hoped; after half a season, he was removed from the team’s plans and omitted from the match registration list.
Despite the challenges faced, Bắc Ninh FC retained Nunes until the end of the season, acknowledging his contributions during his time with the club. As the season concluded, Nunes sought new challenges and signed with Phrae United, a team in Thai League 2 that is aiming to enhance its competitive edge in the upcoming season.
With his ideal physique, diverse international playing experience, and a strong desire to prove himself, the 28-year-old forward is expected to regain his form and become a crucial player for Phrae United in the 2026/27 season.
