On the evening of September 15, 2023, in Hanoi, General Secretary and President To Lam, accompanied by his wife, hosted a formal banquet for King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Queen Suthida of Thailand. The royal couple was in Vietnam for a state visit, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Thailand.
During the banquet, General Secretary To Lam emphasized the importance of this visit, which celebrates a significant milestone in the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. He congratulated Thailand on its achievements under the wise reign of the King and the vital role of the royal family in fostering national unity, stability, and development.
To Lam highlighted the shared history, culture, and traditions between Vietnam and Thailand, noting that the friendship between the two nations is not only built on formal agreements and high-level visits but also strengthened by the bonds between their peoples.
