Hoàng Văn Khánh Arrested for Drug Trafficking
On June 23, police in Nghe An province arrested 64-year-old Hoàng Văn Khánh for illegal drug trafficking.

Kieu Thanh, a prominent actress in Vietnam, is currently facing serious legal troubles as she is being investigated for her involvement in drug trafficking. The Hanoi Police's Drug Crime Investigation Department has been conducting an extensive operation that led to the arrest of 226 suspects, with 144 testing positive for drug use. Among those arrested is Kieu Thanh, aged 45, who is accused of illegally buying and selling narcotics.
The investigation began with the arrest of Nguyen Thi Dong, a 48-year-old woman known for selling methamphetamine in the city. Following this, police set up multiple surveillance teams to track down various drug dealing points. It was discovered that Kieu Thanh was using the Zalo messaging app of her housekeeper, Trinh Minh Hai, to arrange drug transactions.
On July 27, police caught Hai in the act of picking up drugs. At the same time, Kieu Thanh and her husband were found using drugs in their home. Authorities seized several items, including two ceramic plates, bags containing white powder, and various drug paraphernalia. Despite being caught at the scene, Kieu Thanh denied any wrongdoing. However, investigators claim to have sufficient evidence to charge her with drug-related offenses.
Interestingly, Kieu Thanh was not listed as a known drug user or suspected drug addict in the area. The investigation revealed that many individuals with prior drug convictions were reoffending, often using social media platforms like Telegram to arrange purchases and gatherings for drug use.
Throughout this major operation, police confiscated a significant amount of narcotics, including 14.6 kg of methamphetamine, 1.2 kg of ketamine, 6.1 kg of MDMA, over 116 grams of heroin, a firearm, and numerous tools related to drug use.
Kieu Thanh is known for her strong character roles in Vietnamese cinema, having starred in films such as "Criminal Police," "Two Sides of the Horizon," and "When the Birds Return." She gained widespread recognition for her role as "Tra Cave" in the series "The Front is the Sky," a performance that solidified her status in the industry. In 2015, she was honored with the title of Meritorious Artist.
