The Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Vu Chien Thang, has called for strict measures to address any errors identified in the implementation of Decree 178. Speaking at a press briefing on September 11, Thang highlighted that adhering to the policies outlined in Decree 178 is not only a requirement but also reflects the responsibility and humanitarian values of the Party and the State towards officials, civil servants, and workers.

Thang noted that the ongoing organizational streamlining revolution is unprecedented and must be executed meticulously and fundamentally. However, he acknowledged that the implementation process may reveal issues related to responsibilities, methodologies, understandings, and operations. "In some areas, mistakes have occurred, as indicated by the State Audit," he stated.

He clarified that the policies under Decree 178 are not aimed at reducing personnel numbers, but rather at enhancing the quality and capability of the workforce to meet new demands. Therefore, the decree outlines strict processes, subjects, and levels of regulation.

Following the State Audit’s findings, the Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a directive to various ministries, sectors, and localities to conduct reviews. The Ministry is currently compiling results to provide a comprehensive report.

In the directive sent to relevant bodies, the Ministry has instructed them to review, rectify, and address clearly defined responsibilities. For issues exceeding their authority, the Ministry will compile and report to the Prime Minister.

Thang emphasized the importance of handling errors rigorously to prevent any loss of state budget and property while ensuring the smooth operation of the machinery of government, maintaining sufficient capacity and personnel to effectively carry out larger tasks.
