A tragic incident occurred on June 8, when a truck driver, Doan Huu Doi, 40, reversed his vehicle without using warning signals, leading to a fatal collision with a motorcycle driven by a 53-year-old woman, identified as C.T.T.N. The accident took place on National Route 32 in Phu Tho province.

According to the investigation by the Phu Tho Provincial Police, Doi was operating a truck with license plate 15C-143.11, towing a semi-trailer with license plate 15RM-070.79. After hearing an unusual noise from the rear of the trailer, he stopped the truck to check. However, the truck occupied a significant portion of the right lane, causing N. to stop her motorcycle behind him.

In an attempt to reposition his vehicle closer to the edge of the road, Doi reversed without taking necessary safety precautions. He did not sound the horn or take other measures to ensure safety during the maneuver, resulting in the rear of the semi-trailer colliding with N.'s motorcycle.

Following the collision, Doi continued to reverse, tragically resulting in N.'s death at the scene. The motorcycle was also severely damaged, with estimated losses exceeding 4 million VND. In response to the incident, the police have barred Doi from leaving his residence as part of the ongoing investigation and legal proceedings.

This incident highlights the critical importance of safety measures and attentiveness while operating heavy vehicles on public roads.
