At the 12th National Congress of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, Đỗ Thị Thu Thảo was re-elected as President for the term 2026-2031. The congress took place on July 28, 2026, in Hanoi, where the results of the first meeting of the Central Committee were reported, and the new leadership was introduced.

The Central Committee for the new term consists of 85 members, with a Standing Committee of 20 members. The committee includes representatives from various ministries, sectors, and local Red Cross chapters, as well as organizations involved in humanitarian work.

During the first meeting of the new Central Committee, Đỗ Thị Thu Thảo, who also serves as the Secretary of the Central Party Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, received the trust of her peers and was re-elected as President. Additionally, Nguyễn Sĩ Trường was elected as the dedicated Vice President, and Lê Nữ Thùy Dương was appointed as another Vice President of the society.

The congress emphasized the importance of humanitarian efforts and outlined strategic goals for the upcoming term, focusing on enhancing the capacity and effectiveness of the Vietnam Red Cross in serving the community.
