In a segment from the episode, Lok argues for the need to modernize their customs, stating, "Those who follow Christ want a place to pray, and those who follow the traditions of the Rong house want to preserve their ceremonies. Both are expressions of faith and roots. The customs of our village are now outdated, similar to the traditions that Giả Rin has held onto for too long. Change is necessary for a better future." Mr. Lok is a prominent voice in the Tơ Rơi community and has previously interacted with influential figures. However, a tragic incident in late 2014, when his son was killed while attempting to cross the border, led Lok to retreat from public life.

Despite his desire for privacy, Lok's secret meetings with members of the rebel group have raised suspicions. He has faced threats regarding funding for the group's activities but remains steadfast in his beliefs. "To achieve ultimate victory, we certainly need money. But money is merely a tool; it is not my goal. Our ultimate purpose is the promise of self-governance for our people," Lok asserts.
