Sacombank Appoints New CEO Loic Faussier

Sacombank has announced the appointment of Loic Faussier as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective July 10, 2026. This decision comes after receiving approval from the State Bank of Vietnam. Faussier, born in 1972 in France, holds a degree in Economics from the University of Paris Assas and two master's degrees in Finance and Business Law from prestigious institutions in Paris.

With more than 27 years of experience in the banking and finance sector, Faussier has held several leadership positions in major financial institutions across France, Hong Kong, Japan, and Vietnam. His previous roles include CEO of HSBC Vietnam, Deputy CEO of HSBC Japan, Deputy General Director at VIB, and CEO of SeABank. He has been with Sacombank since March 2026, initially serving as Deputy General Director and then as Acting CEO.

In his new role, Faussier aims to enhance governance, improve operational efficiency, drive digital transformation, and strengthen risk management and compliance in line with international standards. Under his leadership, Sacombank reported a pre-tax profit of 2.106 trillion VND for the first quarter, a significant drop of 43% compared to the same period last year. This decline was primarily attributed to increased provisions for credit risk, which exceeded 2 trillion VND, significantly impacting the bank's core business results.

As of March 31, Sacombank's total assets stood at nearly 859.6 trillion VND, a decrease of over 6% since the beginning of the year. Customer loans remained stable at 626.96 trillion VND, while customer deposits slightly declined to 600.79 trillion VND. The bank's strategic focus under Faussier's leadership will be crucial as it navigates these challenges and aims for growth in the competitive banking sector.
