Yamaha Exciter 2026 Launches in Vietnam with Major Upgrades

The highly anticipated Yamaha Exciter 2026 has made its debut in Vietnam, featuring a bold new design and enhanced performance capabilities. This latest model, known as the Exciter 155 VVA-TCS, marks a significant upgrade after five years since the last generation was introduced. With 20 years of presence in the market, Yamaha is set to intensify competition in the underbone motorcycle segment, particularly against the Honda Winner R.

The Exciter 155 VVA-TCS is available in four versions, with prices starting at 49.9 million VND for the Standard version and going up to 60.9 million VND for the Limited version. The design of the new model incorporates the "Downforce Movement" philosophy, inspired by racing motorcycles to optimize aerodynamics, reduce drag, and enhance road grip at high speeds.

Changes to the design include a refined structure of the body, air intakes, and sharp cuts along the sides to improve stability. The front and rear lighting systems have also been redesigned, featuring a more compact front mask and a new sporty windscreen to direct airflow effectively. The rear end showcases a sleek new tail light design, while the overall appearance is more aggressive, complemented by larger brakes.

In terms of technical upgrades, the Exciter 2026 is equipped with a Traction Control System (TCS), a feature commonly found in larger motorcycles and cars. Safety enhancements include an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with a 267 mm front disc brake and a 203 mm rear disc brake for the SP and Limited versions, while the Standard and Premium versions utilize a 245 mm front disc brake.

The new model also features a refined transmission system with an updated final drive ratio, enhancing acceleration, particularly in higher gears. It is powered by a 155cc VVA-TCS engine, boasting a compression ratio of 11.6:1 and a maximum output of 18.5 PS, surpassing the previous generation's 17.9 PS. Additionally, the motorcycle includes a multifunctional digital display that shows speed, RPM, coolant temperature, fuel level, and TCS status.

Yamaha has integrated smart connectivity through the Y-On app, allowing riders to track their journey, locate parking, receive maintenance reminders, and access a comprehensive dashboard interface. With these upgrades, the Yamaha Exciter 2026 is poised to make a significant impact in the competitive motorcycle market.
