The Tuyen Quang Journalists' Association convened its first congress on July 3, 2026, under the theme "Enhancing Professional Ethics and Skills Among Journalists as the Country Enters a New Development Era." This event brought together key figures, including Nguyen Duc Loi, the Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists' Association, and representatives from various local sectors.
During the congress, Nguyen Duc Loi praised the efforts of the Tuyen Quang Journalists' Association over the past term, particularly highlighting the unity and responsibility of its members amid organizational changes following a merger. Despite facing numerous challenges, including demanding work conditions and a wide operational area, local journalists have maintained their political integrity and professional ethics while actively innovating content and improving the quality of their reporting.
Loi stressed that journalism is entering a new phase that demands higher standards, urging journalists to continuously enhance their expertise and quickly adapt to modern media trends. He encouraged the association to innovate its content and operational methods, build a robust team of journalists grounded in political integrity and professional ethics, and actively participate in safeguarding the ideological foundations of the Party in cyberspace.
The association has also emphasized the importance of training and skill development, particularly in multimedia journalism and data journalism, to meet the rising public demand. Furthermore, it aims to effectively leverage digital transformation in journalism and diversify media products across digital platforms.
In the previous term, the Tuyen Quang Journalists' Association demonstrated a strong spirit of solidarity and innovation, focusing on professional training and enhancing the quality of its members. Local media outlets have made significant strides in digital transformation, contributing to the successful execution of political tasks and the socio-economic development of the region.
The association collaborated with the Journalism Training Center to conduct 18 training sessions for over 700 members and collaborators, covering multimedia journalism and modern reporting trends, while also welcoming 102 new members.
In addition to professional activities, the association and local media outlets actively participated in social welfare initiatives, including supporting housing projects for the needy and providing scholarships for underprivileged students, with a total expenditure of nearly 7 billion VND.
For the term 2026-2031, the Tuyen Quang Journalists' Association aims to continue innovating its content and operational methods, working alongside media agencies to enhance reporting quality and develop multimedia journalism products. It will also focus on effectively utilizing digital platforms while upholding the core values and ethics of journalism.
The congress approved the resolution for the term, which includes key targets such as ensuring 100% of members adhere to professional ethics and social media usage guidelines, recruiting at least 20 new members, and achieving high-quality submissions for national journalism awards.
The congress also announced the election results for the new Executive Committee, which includes nine members, with Mai Duc Thong, the Director of Tuyen Quang Radio and Television, being elected as the Chairman.
On this occasion, on behalf of the President, Ha Trung Kien, the Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tuyen Quang Province, awarded a Third-Class Labor Medal to Tang Thi Ha, the Deputy Director of Tuyen Quang Radio and Television, for her outstanding contributions to the socialist construction and national defense efforts.
The Vietnam Journalists' Association presented commendations to three individuals for their exceptional contributions to the association and journalism activities. Additionally, the Tuyen Quang Provincial Fatherland Front Committee recognized five individuals and organizations for their excellent achievements in building and developing the association during the 2020-2025 period.
