So Ji Sub Opens Up About His Life and New Role

South Korean actor So Ji Sub recently revealed details about his personal life and his new role in the series 'Agent Kim Reboot'. In a video posted on July 1 on the YouTube channel Ha Ji Young, So Ji Sub spoke candidly about his marriage to former broadcaster Jo Eun Jung and his experiences as a husband and father.

So Ji Sub, who married Jo Eun Jung in 2020, shared that he often takes on household chores and enjoys cooking. He mentioned, "I do a lot of housework when I have time. Having lived alone for a long time, I know how to prepare basic meals." His comments paint a picture of a down-to-earth husband who values taking care of his home.

In 'Agent Kim Reboot', So Ji Sub plays the role of Kim, a single father and head of the accounting department at a savings bank, who has a teenage daughter named Kim Min Ji. This marks the first time he has portrayed a father on screen, and he expressed curiosity about how he would adapt to this new character. "This is the first time I am playing a father, so I wonder if I can portray the character fully and appropriately," he shared.

So Ji Sub also reflected on being called 'ahjussi' (a term for middle-aged men) in the new project, stating that he has grown accustomed to it over the past 20 years since his role in 'Sorry, I Love You'. He admitted that it felt a bit strange at first when his on-screen daughter addressed him as 'dad'.

Born in 1977, So Ji Sub began his career as a model for the brand STORM in 1995 before transitioning to acting. He gained fame through several popular dramas, including 'Something Happened in Bali', 'Sorry, I Love You', and 'Doctor Lawyer'. Despite his public persona, So Ji Sub and Jo Eun Jung maintain a private life and do not have children yet.
