Government Aims to Enhance Post-Inspection Effectiveness in Vietnam

On July 4, 2026, the Government Inspectorate held a conference to review its activities in the first half of the year and outline tasks for the remainder of 2026. The conference was conducted in a hybrid format, connecting various provinces and cities across the country.

According to the report, the Government Inspectorate has discovered economic violations totaling approximately 44.623 trillion VND, marking a 233.4% increase compared to the same period in 2025. The agency has conducted 1,745 inspections and issued 1,122 inspection conclusions across 3,469 units, leading to recommendations for recovering over 631.5 billion VND for the state budget and addressing various land issues.

During the first half of 2026, the inspectorate has also focused on specialized inspections related to anti-corruption, waste prevention, and illegal fishing. Notably, inspections in Ho Chi Minh City, An Giang, and Ca Mau have been initiated to combat illegal fishing practices.

In addition, the inspectorate has emphasized the importance of resolving complaints and allegations, with over 172,446 citizens visiting government offices and nearly 271,000 complaints received. The agency has successfully resolved 65.3% of cases within its authority, recovering significant funds and land for the state.

Looking ahead, the Government Inspectorate plans to continue enhancing its operational efficiency, focusing on digital transformation and improving public engagement. The Inspector General, Nguyen Quoc Doan, highlighted the need for innovative leadership and a commitment to fulfilling the agency's responsibilities in the coming months.
