1. Open schools, bring education activities back to normal

2022 is the year that education continues being heavily affected by the COVID-19 epidemic for nearly three consecutive years.

During the hard time, the education sector has both fought the epidemic and resolutely opened schools and implemented safety measures to open schools in all 63 provinces/cities.

By April 2022, the opening of schools and school activities have returned to normal.

In order to share the difficulties and provide timely support to educational institutions, teachers and learners; many supports have been implemented by the Government and the education sector such as: credit support for pupils and students; credit support with preferential interest rate loans for non-public pre-school and primary schools.

3. Many policies and solutions are made to overcome the lack of teachers and reduce the number of teachers who quit their job.

The Ministry of Education and Training recognizes not only the shortage of teachers, the situation of teachers quitting jobs due to the low income, work pressure and many educational institutions, especially non-public preschool closing, is also a prominent issue in 2022.

To solve this problem, the Ministry of Politics has approved and assigned to the education field more than 65,000 teacher staffing quotas from now until 2026, and in 2022, the staffing quota will be more than 27,000 teachers.

One of the important policies being considered by the Government is increasing teachers' salaries. This will be a meaningful and effective solution to solve the teachers’ life problems. 

4. The 2018 general education program was implemented totally at 3 levels with the participation of all localities.

The year 2022 marks the first half of the implementation of the 2018 general education program with a huge amount of work completed in the situation of continuing to cope with many negative impacts of the COVID-19 epidemic. In the 2022-2023 school year, new programs are being implemented in grades 1, 2, 3, 6, 7 and 10.

5. Vietnamese students have won many excellent achievements at the International Olympiad and Science & Technology in 2022 

In 2022, the Ministry of Education and Training will send seven delegations of Vietnamese excellent students with 38 turns of students to participate in the International Olympiad. Vietnamese delegations continue to be in the top 10 countries with the highest results with many students achieving high scores.

In 2022 - after 19 years since 2003, Vietnam has a student who won a gold medal at the International Mathematical Olympiad with a perfect score of 42/42 points.

6. High school graduation exam in 2022 is implemented with safety and quality

In 2022, the high school graduation exam will be held nationwide with 2,243 test places, 42,293 rooms and 989,863 candidates. This is the first year that the Ministry of Education and Training organizes online registration for candidates who are in grade 12 for the school year 2021-2022.
