NDO - The Ministry of Health has asked localities to review their demand for COVID-19 vaccination and make plans for booster shots as the basis for the ministry to allocate vaccines in the remainder of 2021 and into 2022.

Provincial and municipal authorities are required to calculate the number of children in three age groups: 3-11, 12-15 and 16-17 and calculate the vaccine demand for each group.

They also need to make vaccination plans for children aged 3 and above and adults in 2022, including third and fourth booster shots for people already inoculated with two doses.

At a recent conference, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health said it is proposing providing a third dose for high-risk people and frontline workers in November and December.

The city is also planning to vaccinate children aged 3 and above in 2022.

Data on the national vaccination portal shows that Vietnam has administered 82,051,163 doses of COVID-19 vaccine as of November 1.

As of October 19, the Ministry of Health had received and allocated nearly 105 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
