Mothers in the Central region stay up all night with local villagers to roast peanuts and prepare vegetables and fruit from their gardens to send to the South.

Many sisters in the North send supplies to the South.

A number of teachers in Da Lat got soaked in the rain so as to cut bunches of green vegetables to send to their colleagues and compatriots during the summer vacation.

"Zero-dong mini supermarkets" and "whoever needs can take" grocery stores have been set up while blankets for the elderly, candy packs for children and free meals have been delivered to people in need.

I couldn't hold back my tears when I looked at the image of a single dumb mother from an ethnic minority group in the mountainous areas of Quang Tri who did not hesitate to pour out the remaining half of her rice bag to help disadvantaged people in the South.

The compatriotship has awakened millions of hearts. Vehicles are busy day and night to carry necessities and groups of volunteers with bravery and readiness to go to dangerous places. The vehicles depart from difficult places and arrive in places in even more difficulty.

Proverbs from the time of our grandparents now reads more deeply than ever such as “One piece when hungry is equal to one package when full”, “Though of different species, you share the same trellis”, and others.

To share the burden with Ho Chi Minh City, many provinces and cities across the country have welcomed their compatriots back to take care of them.

Da Nang was the first locality and it was followed by Quang Nam, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Binh and others. The morality and responsibility of the local authorities and their countrymen and women have made them feel warm and secure.

People can feel it from the eyes, the tears, and the stories filled with the emotion of citizens returning to their hometowns.

“Mother, although the world is vast, nowhere is like our home...”, the tune of musician Tran Tien is a real feeling as when people face the saddest things, they often think about their hometown, home, and relatives.

As the pandemic becomes even more unpredictable, many people cannot return home but everywhere in Vietnam shares the same Fatherland.

To prevent the pandemic, the Party and State are focusing all their efforts on urgent and effective solutions. People in pandemic areas will be provided with necessities and vaccines. But there is a more important and sacred vaccine called "compatriotship".
