In the process of creating a new project for Le Quyen, Lam Bao Chau has made several requests for her to tone down her performance style and concentrate on conveying emotions through her eyes. After more than a year since her last album, Le Quyen has officially returned with her music video titled 'If Only You Were Me', composed by Hung Quan and produced by Le Quang.

Initially, Le Quyen intended to release the song as an audio track. However, after listening to the demo, she and her boyfriend decided to create a music video. "The emotions just overflowed. And Chau immediately had an idea for this MV," the singer shared.

The entire preparation and filming process was completed in just five days to fit Le Quyen's schedule before her trip to the United States. The crew managed to film all scenes in one day, wrapping up at 1 AM so that Le Quyen could catch her flight at 5:30 AM the same day. Due to filming underwater and working late into the night, she caught a cold and required treatment for two weeks after arriving in the U.S.

Le Quyen revealed that after being together for over six years, they have collaborated on various music projects, but this is the first time Lam Bao Chau has been deeply involved in the creative process as a scriptwriter. "On set, Chau was quite strict. Having performed on stage for many years, I have a habit of expressing strongly and using hand gestures, which can be excessive in front of the camera. Chau kept reminding me to 'act with my eyes only, don’t use your hands.' There were times I felt frustrated," she recounted.

Previously, Lam Bao Chau participated in the show 'Sister Beautiful' featuring Le Quyen in 2023 and also acted in her music video. In September 2024, rumors circulated on social media about Le Quyen drafting a will to leave half of her assets to Lam Bao Chau, but her representative later denied these claims, stating they were inaccurate.

Le Quyen has also spoken about how she has changed since dating Lam Bao Chau, saying, "I consciously realize the changes. Of course, I acknowledge that there are influences around me. I believe these changes are good for myself. I feel more vibrant, dynamic, and youthful. I no longer resemble a bureaucrat in the arts as I did before. For example, just changing my hairstyle makes me excited about a new look. I used to be very rigid."
