Visit Luc Ngan District in Vietnam and pick thousands of lychees

Ms.Thuong (22 years old) and her friends rode a motorbike for about two hours from Hanoi to pick lychees at the garden in Dong Giao village, Quy Son commune, Luc Ngan district. For the first time, Ms.Thuong had a chance to admire a litchi garden with a large area of about 5 hectares, with lychee trees 5-10m high raspberry-shaped canopy, planted in rows. The lychee tree has many leaves, so the fruit cannot be seen from a distance. But when she approached, the bunches of lychee were almost fully ripe. Some branches are heavy, and she must use sticks to pick them.
Luc Ngan and Tan Yen are two key lychee-growing districts of the "litchi capital" of nearly 30,000 hectares of Bac Giang Province. In April 2023, the Asian Records Organization established Luc Ngan lychee on the list of Vietnamese specialties that achieved an Asian record according to the set of Asian culinary value criteria. Visitors to the Luc Ngan district can easily see the rolling hills in green. Every year, at this time, the roads in Luc Ngan, Vietnam, are dyed red by trucks carrying harvested lychees.
The form of garden tourism in the litchi season is promoted by Bac Giang province to promote and consume the fruit. Luc Ngan district has more than 200 cooperatives growing litchi, welcoming visitors, and providing food, accommodation and entertainment services. Tours in the Luc Ngan district will combine experiencing lychee gardens and visiting scenic spots such as Cam Son Lake, Khuon Than Lake, Am Vai Pagoda, streams and mountains.
"I just pick up the camera to take pictures and then peel off the cloth to eat. The fruit is thick, ivory white. Biting into the feeling of being flooded, sweet and fragrant, makes me want to eat more and more, but I have to hold back because I'm afraid of the heat." Mr.Thuong shared his experience in the lychee garden.

Lychee branches lie low, so raise your hand, and you can pick the fruit. The large, bright red lychee, seen with the naked eye or photographed, is outstanding.
Mr.Thuong said enjoying lychee in the garden is more interesting and delicious than buying it at the market or in the supermarket. Fresh lychees eaten in the garden taste lighter and sweeter, while lychees bought from outside taste slightly sour.

In addition to picking lychee, visitors can experience camping at the lychee garden; join the night lychee picking tour at 1-2 AM with local people; take a boat to take pictures, visit the litchi islands on the lake; participate in harvesting beeswax, collecting honey and handmade lychee flowers with local people.

In addition, visitors can enjoy famous local cuisine and specialties such as hill chicken, horse spring rolls, noodle soup, fish and shrimp, lychee honey, and lychee-based dishes and drinks.
