Vietnam’s Nha Trang City to host beach tourism festival
The event, slated for June 16 to 19, expects to attract more than 100,000 visitors
The race is part of the world’s largest open-water swimming competition, OCEANMAN, the local media reported.
The competition will be held on Bai Dai Beach in Khanh Hoa Province’s Cam Ranh City, with 850 local and international contestants expected to attend.
Winners of the 10-kilometer, five-kilometer and two-kilometer open water races are eligible for the final round of the international OCEANMAN 2023 in Phuket, Thailand.
Nguyen Tuan Thanh, deputy head of the Khanh Hoa Department of Culture and Sports, said that the forthcoming sporting event would become one of a series of activities to celebrate the 370th anniversary of the province’s establishment.
The competition is expected to lure more domestic and foreign tourists to the province, Thanh said, adding that if it pays off, the province would consider making it one of the key cultural and sports activities in Khanh Hoa.
