Gelex has announced the complete divestment of its stake in Hai An Transport and Stevedoring, a significant player in the maritime industry. After holding a major share for just over a month, Gelex sold more than 9.7 million shares, which accounts for over 5% of the company's capital. This transaction took place on September 23.

Previously, on August 21, Gelex had acquired 413,600 shares of Hai An, increasing its ownership from approximately 9.3 million shares (4.94%) to around 9.7 million shares (5.16%). However, just a month later, Gelex decided to exit its investment entirely. Based on the closing price of Hai An shares on September 23, which was 48,950 VND each, Gelex generated nearly 480 billion VND from this transaction.

Since the beginning of the year, the stock price of Hai An has decreased by over 12%. Hai An Transport and Stevedoring operates primarily in the maritime transport and port services sector. It is recognized as the largest domestic company owning a fleet of container ships in Vietnam, with 18 vessels capable of carrying approximately 29,400 TEU.

In the first half of the year, Hai An reported a net revenue of 2,798 billion VND, reflecting a 14% increase compared to the same period last year. The company's net profit after tax reached 818 billion VND, marking a 19% rise.

Gelex, established in 1990, originally focused on electrical equipment but has since diversified into energy, clean water, construction materials, real estate, and industrial zones. In the first half of this year, the company recorded consolidated revenue of over 25,200 billion VND and a net profit after tax of more than 1,930 billion VND. Additionally, Gelex holds investments in various stocks, including 3,297 billion VND in Eximbank's shares, making it the largest investment in their portfolio.
