Coinbase Global, Inc. has released its financial results for the second quarter of 2026, revealing impressive growth in its crypto trading volume and market share. The company achieved a record crypto trading volume market share of 10.3%, up from 9.1% in the previous quarter, marking its third consecutive quarter of gains despite a challenging market environment.
One of the standout features of Coinbase's Q2 performance is the significant diversification of its revenue streams. A remarkable 88% of the net revenue came from non-Bitcoin spot trading, indicating a shift away from reliance on Bitcoin trading fees. This diversification is further emphasized by the growth of subscription and services revenue, which surged from $6 million in Q2 2020 to $555 million in Q2 2026, now accounting for 48% of net revenue.
In addition to trading volume, Coinbase has also seen substantial growth in its prediction markets contracts, which more than doubled, increasing by 106% quarter-over-quarter and crossing the $100 million mark in annualized revenue. The launch of a new crypto binaries experience late in the quarter has driven a threefold increase in daily traders and quadrupled daily revenue compared to previous averages.
Stablecoin usage continues to rise, with the average USDC held in Coinbase products reaching an all-time high of $20 billion, representing over 30% of all USDC in circulation. The company has captured approximately 50% of all USDC economics over the past year, highlighting its dominance in the stablecoin market.
Coinbase's CEO, Brian Armstrong, expressed confidence in the company's position, stating, "We continue to execute well on what we can control and the underlying business is performing well. The Everything Exchange is delivering real revenue, not just green shoots, and starting to yield tangible diversification."
Despite market headwinds, Coinbase's fundamentals remain strong, as evidenced by its 14th consecutive quarter of positive Adjusted EBITDA. The company is also focusing on cost discipline, reducing its FY'26 Adjusted Expenses range while increasing efficiency through AI adoption.
As Coinbase continues to innovate and expand its offerings, it solidifies its position as a leader in the cryptocurrency trading space, poised to capitalize on the evolving landscape of financial services.
