Fuel prices increase for fourth straight time

HCMC – Domestic fuel retail prices continued to rise further from 3 p.m. yesterday, November 11, marking the fourth consecutive hike.

RON 95-III gasoline increased by VND1,100 to VND22,870 per liter and E5 RON 92 bio-gasoline rose by VND840 to over VND22,700 per liter.

Kerosene is now priced at VND24,750 per liter, up some VND960, and heavy oil sells for VND14,760 per kilogram, up VND680.

While the prices of other fuels increased, diesel oil inched down VND90 to nearly VND25,000 per liter.

In this fuel price adjustment round, the two ministries decided to cut RON95 gasoline and heavy oil surcharges by VND100 and VND200 to VND200 and VND300 per liter and kilogram, respectively, to replenish the fuel price stabilization fund.

The surcharges of the E5 RON gasoline stayed at VND200 per liter, while diesel and kerosene oil continued to be free of charge. They also decided to stop tapping the fund.

Local fuel prices are revised periodically on the first, 11th and 21st of each month from January this year depending on global oil market movements under Decree 95/ND-CP.
